Each year the TinyClub crew run music production Beatcamps on the bushy side of Ruahine Forest, North Island NZ. At last year's camp, DARKIST engineered RadioControls song of the year Cone Creek, and at this year's Beatcamp he’s back with a new EP; ‘State of The Disunion’ a 4 track genre melt of rolling hi-hats, low drops vox, bottoms and tops.

A decade ago while living in London during the Fabric era, DARKIST picked up a nasty dub habit, leading him to make his own murky gear. These dark wubs got picked up by London-based TDM Records who released the IT EP in 2011. In 2012 Iron Shirt Recordings picked up DARKIST’s BIOPSY for their inaugural label compilation. And in 2015, UK dub label Digital Weapons released DARKIST’s deep brooding EP ‘Dope Head’.

Since returning to Papapoiea, DARKIST helped create the bass pioneer refuge centre TinyClub. And it’s there, DARKIST’s heavy dubs met heavy beats, melding bass lines and drums creating a soundscape for the age of angst in a post-truth world.
